Job summary

JLGOV is seeking a senior government contracts accountant on an as-needed basis to manage QuickBooks operations, keep our accounting system audit-ready under DCAA guidelines, and support a ramp-up period.

The role covers monthly close, rate calculations, tax payments, payroll processing, and invoicing support, with the CEO relying on timely, accurate financial reporting. Local Hampton Roads residency is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting in government contracting
• DCAA-compliant accounting system
• Proficient in QuickBooks and period close
• Experience with cost allowability and indirect segregation
• Verifiable references from government contractor clients
• Ability to meet locally in Hampton Roads

Responsibilities

• Manage QuickBooks accounting and monthly close
• Maintain chart of accounts separating direct/indirect costs per FAR Part 31
• Compute and maintain wrap and indirect rates and prepare financial reports
• Maintain an audit-ready accounting system with DCAA compliance
• Prepare and submit quarterly tax payments
• Process payroll and assist invoicing, A/R, A/P
• Serve as point of contact for government audits
