Job summary

SimIS Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to oversee financial accounting, reporting and compliance for government contracting. The role is hands-on with day-to-day accounting, cash flow maintenance, and on-site office hours in Suffolk, VA.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business and 3–5 years of government contractor accounting experience, with expert GAAP, DCAA and FAR knowledge. Experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred.

• 3-5 years government contractor accounting experience.
• Expert knowledge of GAAP, DCAA, and FAR regulations.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all financial matters related to government contracts and administration department.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for government contracts.
• Ensure compliance with FAR and DCAA requirements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for year-end CPA review.
• Manage accounts payable including QuickBooks Online and vendor statement reconciliation.
• Process payroll and employee expense reports; monitor PTO balances.
• Manage accounts receivable processes including invoicing and payment application.
