Job summary

Medallia is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer II to operate and improve our GovCloud cloud platform for federal and regulated customers. You will work hybrid near Tysons, VA, supporting production systems, collaborating with security and engineering teams, and growing toward ownership of larger systems.

The role emphasizes reliability, security, and compliance in a regulated cloud, with on-call rotation and growth opportunities under senior mentorship.

Qualifications

• U.S. resident with U.S. citizenship or Green Card to meet AWS GovCloud compliance requirements.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or production infrastructure roles.
• Experience with core services on AWS or similar public clouds; IaC tools (Terraform).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and microservices management.
• Programming in Python and/or Go for automation and tooling.
• Experience troubleshooting production incidents and contributing to runbooks and post-mortems.

Responsibilities

• Build, operate, and improve secure cloud infrastructure on AWS GovCloud with Kubernetes.
• Manage VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, and load balancers.
• Oversee PostgreSQL backups, replication, and performance tuning as part of data tier.
• Respond to incidents, perform RCA, and drive reliability improvements.
• Develop IaC with Terraform and Kubernetes deployment workflows using Git and CI/CD.
• Enhance observability with metrics, logs, and alert tuning.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and release teams to deploy safely.
• Assist platform upgrades, security patching, and compliance maintenance in a regulated cloud.
• Participate in on-call rotation for production support.
