Job summary

Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace in Troy, MI seeks a Sous Chef to oversee the Gourmet to Go department. The role directs all functions, develops plans to maximize sales and profits, and ensures compliance with health and safety standards. You will hire, train and mentor deli associates while coordinating with the Dept.

Manager and Director of Operations. You will manage product production, suppliers, and inventory to ensure quality and timely service, leading by example and driving

Qualifications

• Previous management experience required.
• Food service management certification required.
• Culinary degree or a combination of work experience and education is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to stand and walk for 8+ hours.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds regularly.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all department functions to meet sales, gross profit, customer service and labor goals.
• Develop and implement plans to maximize sales and profits in the department.
• Direct workflow for production, sale, merchandising and distribution of department products.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and EEOC requirements and maintain safe work environment.
• Interview, hire, train and develop deli associates following company policies and laws.
• Oversee Gourmet to Go operations, including demos and catering coordination.
• Plan product distribution with suppliers and manage inventory for freshness and turnover.
• Provide feedback to management and lead by example.
