Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace is seeking a Sous Chef for our Clinton Twp location. The role requires directing the deli department to meet sales, profitability, and customer service goals while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You will hire and develop the deli team, plan production and distribution, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Strong leadership and culinary expertise are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of related experience; culinary management preferred.
• Food service management certification required; culinary degree preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Stand for 8+ hours and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Strong leadership and training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all department functions to meet sales, gross profit, customer service and labor goals.
• Develop plans to maximize department results.
• Oversee production, merchandising and distribution of department products.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, EEOC and labor laws.
• Hire, train and develop deli associates.
• Oversee Gourmet to Go staff and demos.
• Coordinate with management on ordering and scheduling.
