Job summary

Fortune Fish & Gourmet is seeking a Delivery Driver to deliver seafood, beef, poultry, and gourmet products. You will be the key customer contact, ensuring top service while maintaining safety and HACCP standards. The role requires DOT compliance and accurate handling of perishable goods.

Responsibilities include pre-trip checks, route delivery, product loading/unloading, and obtaining signatures. Experience in temperature-controlled transport is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education – High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience – 1–2 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
• Customer Service – Friendly, outgoing, and courteous demeanor.
• Licensing – Must have a valid standard license.
• Language – Basic English speaking proficiency.
• Able to work long shifts and Saturdays.
• Transportation of temperature-controlled product experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all pre-trip responsibilities, including checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries.
• Perform necessary vehicle safety inspections for the vehicle.
• Drive and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route. Ensure the vehicle is properly secured during drop-offs.
• Load and unload products from the vehicle using a dolly or other appropriate devices safely.
• Verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures confirming receipt of the product.
• Contact management to discuss issues or concerns as they arise throughout the workday.
• Perform all post-delivery actions, including unloading damaged product, customer returns, and completing any necessary documents.
• Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations during the operation of the truck and handling of the product.
• Develop and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and goodwill by providing professional assistance and by demonstrating an interest in the customer’s needs.
• Report any complaints to the supervisor.
• Collect money from customers and properly record transactions on company documentation, including invoices.
• Ensure that payment (cash, checks, etc.) is properly secured.
• Ensure that safety training is current as per company policy.
• Supports the Fleet Manager by ensuring that vehicles are maintained according to schedule and records are current and correct.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
