Job summary

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace's gourmet Kitchen is seeking a Kitchen Clerk to help prepare delicious dishes and keep our kitchen running smoothly. Responsibilities include following prep lists, washing and chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, basic cooking tasks, and maintaining a sparkling workspace.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old with at least 1 year of experience in a busy kitchen.
• Knowledgeable about health and safety rules in a kitchen environment.
• Comfortable using kitchen tools and utensils with skill and confidence.
• A team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Able to work efficiently, stay organized, and thrive in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow prep lists from our chefs and help set up your workstation each day.
• Wash, chop, slice, and dice veggies, and other ingredients with care.
• Measure and mix ingredients to prepare sides, sauces, and simple dishes like salads and entrees.
• Handle basic cooking tasks like reducing sauces, parboiling, and assembling dishes.
• Keep the kitchen sparkling—wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, take out trash, and stay organized.
• Stock and label ingredients so everything is easy to find and ready to go.
• Follow nutrition, sanitation, and safety guidelines while having fun with your team.
• Jump in with other kitchen tasks as needed.
