Job summary

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is seeking a Kitchen Clerk – Production (Plating) to portion, plate, garnish and package freshly prepared foods while upholding quality and presentation.

You’ll follow daily production lists and work with a fast-paced kitchen team. Prior kitchen experience is preferred; 18+ required, with attention to detail and basic food-safety knowledge.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous kitchen/food-production experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with eye for food quality and presentation.
• Ability to follow recipes, plating guides, portioning standards, and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable using scales and packaging equipment.
• Knowledge of food-safety practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with chefs and production team to complete orders on schedule.
• Assist with light food preparation and other kitchen duties.

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is seeking a Kitchen Clerk – Production (Plating) to join our gourmet Kitchen team. This position is responsible for portioning, plating, garnishing, and packaging our freshly prepared foods while ensuring every item meets our high standards for quality, freshness, and presentation.

What You’ll Be Cooking Up

• Follow daily production lists and plating instructions provided by our chefs and kitchen management.
• Portion and arrange prepared foods neatly and consistently on trays, platters, and in containers.
• Garnish and finish dishes according to company recipes and presentation standards.
• Package, seal, label, and date completed products accurately.
• Inspect food for freshness, quality, appearance, and proper portion sizes before products are displayed or stored.
• Stock plating stations with the ingredients, garnishes, containers, labels, and supplies needed for production.
• Rotate ingredients and finished products according to food-safety and freshness guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation throughout each shift.
• Follow all company food-safety, sanitation, and workplace-safety procedures.
• Work closely with chefs and other production team members to complete orders accurately and on schedule.
• Assist with light food preparation and other kitchen-production duties as assigned.

Who We’re Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous experience in a kitchen, food-production, catering, or food-service environment is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with an eye for food quality and presentation.
• Ability to follow recipes, plating guides, portioning standards, and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable using basic kitchen tools, utensils, scales, and food-packaging equipment.
• Knowledge of food-safety and sanitation practices is preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently, remain organized, and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and carry items required for the position.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
