Job summary

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is seeking a Kitchen Clerk for its gourmet kitchen. You will help prep, chop, and assemble dishes, keeping the kitchen running smoothly while following safety guidelines.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in a busy kitchen, are team players, and can communicate well with the team to produce fresh, tasty meals for our guests.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a busy kitchen is preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen environment.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication are valued.

Responsibilities

• Follow prep lists and set up workstation daily.
• Wash, chop, slice and dice vegetables and ingredients.
• Measure and mix ingredients for sides, sauces, and simple dishes.
• Handle basic cooking tasks like reducing sauces and assembling dishes.
• Keep the kitchen clean, wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and organize.
• Stock and label ingredients for easy access.

If you enjoy chopping, mixing, prepping, and seeing tasty results of your work, this is the perfect opportunity to join a team that’s all about gourmet food, fun, and teamwork.

What You’ll Be Cooking Up

1. Follow prep lists from our chefs and help set up your workstation each day


2. Wash, chop, slice, and dice veggies, and other ingredients with care.


3. Measure and mix ingredients to prepare sides, sauces, and simple dishes like salads and entrees.


4. Handle basic cooking tasks like reducing sauces, parboiling, and assembling dishes.


5. Keep the kitchen sparkling—wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, take out trash, and stay organized.


6. Stock and label ingredients so everything is easy to find and ready to go.


7. Follow nutrition, sanitation, and safety guidelines while having fun with your team.


8. Jump in with other kitchen tasks as needed.

Who We’re Looking For

1. 18+ years old with at least 1 year of experience in a busy, fast-paced kitchen.


2. Knowledgeable about health and safety rules in a kitchen environment.


3. Comfortable using kitchen tools and utensils with skill and confidence.


4. A team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.


5. Able to work efficiently, stay organized, and thrive in a busy environment.
