Job summary

Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel in Milwaukee seeks a friendly Cocktail Server to engage guests, take orders, and deliver beverage experiences in a dynamic, social setting. No formal experience required; one year preferred.

Responsibilities include upholding health standards, maintaining service areas, and collaborating with the team to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction. Knowledge of cocktails and alcohol service is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English to communicate with guests and take orders.
• Ability to memorize, recite, and promote a variety of menu items.
• Ability to transport trays weighing up to 40 lbs. through a crowded room.
• Must adhere to liquor regulations pertaining to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Maintain a positive attitude and work as a team player.
• Cash handling and self-banking; count back change.
• Operate a keyboard and learn POS procedures to pre-check an order and close a check.
• No prior experience required.
• Ability to obtain government required license or certificate; TIPS and Bartender certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check and maintain proper set-up and cleanliness of service station before, during, and after shift.
• Greet guests in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner and explain all specials, promotions, and snacks.
• Take orders, recite selection of all call and premium beverages as requested.
• Provide appropriate snack and garnish with all beverages.
• Input orders into POS to inform the bartender an order was made.
• Maintain cleanliness of guest tables and assist with the bar area.
• Replenish beverages as requested and check guest satisfaction.
• Present the guest with the check promptly, thank them and invite them to return.
• Perform all assigned side work and daily checklist.
• Perform general cleaning tasks per supervisor guidance to adhere to health standards.
• Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.
• Perform other duties as requested e.g., special guest requests.
