Job summary

VIG Milwaukee seeks an experienced bartender/server to provide genuine hospitality and exceptional service to bar and dining guests in Milwaukee. You will learn and follow recipes to prepare beverages, answer guest questions about menus, and maintain a clean, organized workstation during busy shifts.

You will handle cash transactions, operate POS and credit card terminals, and ensure accurate orders while complying with safety and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications

• Availability to work weekends and holidays.
• Follow all policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook.
• Provide genuine hospitality and exceed guest expectations.
• Complete alcohol awareness training and/or food handler training.
• Commitment to teamwork and maintaining a pleasant attitude.
• Comply with safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Follow all steps of service as outlined in the handbook.
• Know the food and beverage menus to answer guest questions.
• Comply with allergy and dietary restriction procedures
• Maintain accurate guest orders and ensure correct delivery
• Stock bar and storage areas with liquor, beer, wine, glassware, ice, and serving tools
• Recognize intoxicated guests and avoid over-serving; alert management as needed
• Exercise proper cash handling and till reconciliation
• Use equipment including POS terminals, credit card terminals, coffee machines, dish machines, sinks, CO2 tanks, draft beer mechanisms
• Accomplish other duties as instructed by management
• Maintain honesty and integrity in all aspects of employment
• Communicate clearly and hospitably with guests and teammates
• Service multiple guests at the bar and manage the service well station
• Take and prepare multiple orders at one time
• Carry multiple plates of food safely and cleanly
• Use a tray to carry multiple drinks
• Use knives, peelers, and other bar tools safely
• Multitask while staying calm and professional
• Work in spaces with varying noise, temperature, and crowd levels
• Be able to stand and walk for the duration of shifts
• Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds generally
• Practice proper safety guidelines
