Burlingame Country Club in Hillsborough, California, is seeking a Merchandise Manager to lead its Golf Shop retail operation and shape the merchandise assortment with a focus on member service.

The role oversees purchasing, inventory, and visual merchandising, working closely with the golf professional staff. The ideal candidate combines product sense with business skills to drive a successful retail operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or related experience preferred.
• Experience in golf merchandising, specialty retail, or a service-focused environment is desirable.
• Strong purchasing, visual merchandising, and inventory control skills are required.
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage an open-to-buy plan aligned with the Club’s budget, sales goals, and member preferences.
• Select, source, and purchase merchandise while maintaining vendor relationships.
• Create inviting displays and coordinate seasonal transitions and shop changes for events.
• Plan and promote merchandise, sales, and retail events; collaborate with golf staff on tournament gifts.
• Oversee inventory, pricing, and POS records; ensure accurate charges and timely accounting submission.
• Lead accurate inventories and analyze sales, margins, and product performance to guide purchasing.
