POSITION SUMMARY:
To ensure all guests are greeted in a friendly and courteous manner, handle all payment transactions, maximize guest satisfaction, and perform general duties as assigned by the Golf Professional.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Handle all sales transactions made through the Golf Shop
- Maintain accurate records for the Golf Shop with special emphasis on retail/golf transactions
- Report stock levels of guest, retail, and office supplies to manager
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness for all areas within the Department
- Adhere to all rules and regulations established in standard operation procedure manual for BCG/BCL/Bass Pro Shops
- Report all incidents of guest dissatisfaction to the manager
- Report all accidents/injuries that occur during the execution of Golf Shop business or on Big Cedar Lodge property through proper channels
- Assist guests with the highest level of professionalism
- Maintain accurate records with emphasis on inventory control and sales records
- Have computer and inventory brand knowledge
- Have overall knowledge of the game of golf and related merchandise sales (clubs, balls, bags, gloves, etc.)
- Perform other duties as required
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum 3 months’ retail experience and basic understanding of golf operations preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities
- Language Skills: Ability to read, interpret documents, write reports, and communicate effectively
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate discounts, interest, and percentages; basic algebra and geometry
- Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out instructions; problem-solving in standardized situations
- Basic Computer Skills: Use of computers, software, internet
- Other Skills: Teamwork, prioritization, urgency, guest satisfaction focus
- Physical Demands: Standing, using hands, reaching, walking, occasional climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Work Environment: Typical of retail and hospitality settings; accommodations available for disabilities
