Job summary

Van's Golf Shops in Scottsdale, AZ is looking for a Golf Sales Associate to promote a store culture aligned with Worldwide Golf values and to assist customers with golf equipment choices using in-store data from launch monitors and simulators.

You will maintain product knowledge, assist with merchandising, and help customers compare options to make informed decisions. Prior golf-industry experience is preferred, but entry-level candidates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Golf knowledge/background is required.
• Experience in the golf industry is a plus (entry-level candidates will also be considered).

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of golf products, terminology, promotions, and sale ads.
• Evaluate customer needs and recommend suitable golf equipment.
• Educate customers to compare products for informed decisions.
• Operate launch monitor and golf simulator to provide data during in-store experience.
• Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and keep sales floor organized and clean.
• Research merchandise availability via computer database and manage stock levels.
• Suggest process improvements after training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Description

The Golf Sales Associate at Van's Golf Shops is responsible for promoting and maintaining a store culture that is consistent with Worldwide Golf's values, including the \"Sure No Problem\" philosophy. Responsibilities include:

• Maintain an awareness of all golf product knowledge, terminology, merchandise promotions, demo merchandise and sale advertisements.
• Evaluate customers’ needs, apply knowledge of golf equipment features and benefits, and make recommendations on the right golf equipment for the customer.
• Educate customers on our golf products and help them compare differences to make an educated decision.
• Operate launch monitor and golf simulator equipment to provide customer with valuable data during in-store experience
• Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and keeping the sales floor organized and clean to meet Worldwide Golf’s standards.
• Research merchandise availability via computer database; requisition merchandise from the stockroom and taking inventory of stock where needed.
• Once fully trained, recognize and suggest ways to improve processes.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Ability to spend work time standing or moving around the store. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting (up to 15 pounds), carrying, walking and/or reaching on a frequent basis.
• Have a working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet and order processing systems.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
