Job summary

Boyne Resorts is seeking a Business Planning and Control Manager for its Michigan golf properties. This leadership role drives operational excellence, standard practices, and performance across the portfolio.

You will lead analytics, budgeting, and capital planning in partnership with senior golf leadership. The role requires collaborating with property leadership, overseeing reporting tools, and guiding long-range maintenance and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Golf Management, Business, Hospitality, Accounting, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with experience building and interpreting operational and financial reports.
• Experience supporting budget development, financial review, and capital planning processes.
• Working knowledge of golf course maintenance practices and capital asset planning a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort presenting to senior leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills preferred); experience with golf-specific POS/tee sheet systems a plus.
• Passion for golf and the outdoors is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead standardized operating procedures and best practices across all Boyne Resorts golf courses.
• Conduct daily operational audits and benchmark against industry standards.
• Provide guidance to property-level golf professionals and GMs on best practices.
• Partner with SVP of Golf Operations to develop annual operating strategy and long-range goals.
• Support rate strategy, tee sheet management, and inventory optimization.
• Identify operational efficiencies and growth opportunities across the portfolio.
• Own analysis of key golf operations performance metrics and build dashboards.
• Translate data insights into actionable recommendations for leadership.
• Support annual golf operations budget development and monthly/quarterly reviews.
• Assist in capital maintenance planning for irrigation, turf, and course assets.
• Coordinate with course superintendents and property leadership on capital projects.
• Support day-to-day operational matters and cross-functional initiatives.
