Job summary

Holyoke Community College is seeking a Golf Head Coach to lead and administer all phases of the intercollegiate program. The role includes recruiting athletes, organizing practices, and supporting the academic success of student-athletes while complying with NJCAA rules and college policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate degree required.
• Knowledge of the sport of golf as student-athlete and/or coach.
• Knowledge of recruitment and student-athlete development.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license.
• The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Recruit quality student-athletes; establish recruiting strategy and materials.
• Organize, prepare and conduct team practice sessions.
• Direct, motivate, and advise student-athletes for competition.
• Establish program and student-athlete goals and policies.
• Communicate proper techniques, fundamentals, and team strategies.
• Represent the college with good sportsmanship and collegiality.
• Monitor and support academic success of student-athletes.
• Meet with Athletic Academic Advisor to monitor academic progress.
• Develop competition schedules with Athletic Director.
• Coordinate with four-year schools to assist student-athlete transfers.
• Ensure compliance with NJCAA eligibility and handbooks.
• Attend coaching staff meetings and manage paperwork with director.
