Job summary

Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Michigan, seeks a Head Golf Coach to lead an intercollegiate program within the Athletics Department. The successful candidate will provide leadership and ensure compliance with NJCAA and MCCAA guidelines.

Responsibilities include recruiting, scheduling, educating athletes on ethics and academics, coordinating travel, managing budget and equipment, and coordinating events as directed by the Athletic Director.

Qualifications

• Coaching or playing experience at the high school or club level.
• Valid Michigan driving record required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct program in compliance with Rules of Conduct for Athletic Department staff.
• Recruit players, select team and maintain appropriate coaching schedule.
• Educate players on and hold them accountable for, upholding ethical behavior and academic standards of HFC.
• Coordinate one Community Service outreach event as approved by the Athletic Director.
• Develop and maintain a work schedule (administrative availability, practices and games).
• Prepare conference schedule under the direction of the Athletic Director.
• Ensure MCCAA and NJCAA regulations are upheld.
• Attend MCCAA/NJCAA meetings as necessary.
• Coordinate team roster with the Athletic Director and Compliance Officer.
• Assist in fundraising in support of the program.
• Provide publicity information to the Athletic Director and Communications staff as needed.
• Plan for prevention of athletic-related injuries and properly report injuries to the Athletic Director.
• Manage approved budget under the direction of the Athletic Director.
• Plan for appropriate equipment and supplies to be available prior to the start of the season.
• Inventory, issue and collect equipment.
• Arrange travel, food and lodging for away events with the assistance of the Athletic Director.
