Job summary

Forsyth County Parks and Recreation invites applications for a Golf Course Maintenance Worker role with the Tanglewood Golf Maintenance staff. The job involves outdoor work, daily course setup, wilt monitoring, and operating various equipment to maintain greens and fairways.

Schedule is Monday through Friday with shared weekends; May–Sept 6:00–2:30, Oct–Apr 6:30–3:00. A valid driver’s license and pesticide license within one year are required, with preference for turf management training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required plus two years' golf course maintenance experience.
• Pesticide license must be obtained within one year of employment.
• Prefer an Associate degree in turf management or a related field as partial substitution for experience.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor greens for wilt, disease and insect damage.
• Set up golf course for daily play and maintain fairways.
• Operate reels, mowers and other grounds equipment with care.
• Assist in fertilizing greens and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Assist in irrigation installation and adjustments.
