Forsyth County's Park and Recreation Department is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician I to perform grounds maintenance duties and assist park guests in a western Forsyth County location.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and experience with basic building or grounds maintenance. Shifts vary seasonally, with benefits including vacation/sick leave, holidays, retirement, and 401k contribution.

Responsabilités

• Maintain park grounds such as mulching, mowing, line trimming, backpack blowing, and general grounds tasks.
• Interact with park patrons and provide information to guests utilizing park facilities.
• Assist with small projects such as picnic table repair, staining, fencing, painting, and restroom care.
• Assist with special event preparations and clean up.
• Assist with installation and dismantling of light displays for annual Festival of Lights.
• Operate and maintain a variety of small equipment.

Forsyth County's Park and Recreation Department has a great opportunity to work in an outdoor environment in western Forsyth County. Tanglewood Park is seeking a motivated individual that would be interested in working in a part-time year-round Maintenance Technician I position.

This position performs duties associated with park maintenance operations and will have direct interaction with park patrons and will provide information and instruction to guest that are utilizing park facilities and assist with requests to ensure that facility is acceptable for rental period. Responsible for operation and general maintenance of a variety of small equipment.

Work shifts and schedules will be varied due to seasonal operational requirements:

• January - March: Monday-Thursday 7:00 am - 12:00 pm
• April - October: Monday-Thursday 7:00 am - 2:30 pm
• November - December: Thursday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

Graduation from high school or GED and some experience in basic building or grounds maintenance work.

A valid driver's license is required.

An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered for minimum qualification requirements.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Employee will perform duties associated with maintenance of park grounds such as mulching, mowing, line trimming, backpack blowing, spreading gravel, repair fencing, leaf removal, snow removal, trail maintenance and general grounds maintenance tasks.
• Will have direct interaction with park patrons and will provide information and instruction to guest that are utilizing park facilities and assist with requests to ensure that facility are acceptable for rental period.
• May assist maintenance staff with the completion of small projects and work requests such as picnic table repair, staining, fencing, painting, maintaining public picnic shelters, cleaning public restrooms, replenishing public restroom supplies, trash removal, pet waste stations, pressure washing, cleaning of public grills, lock and unlock access gates and facilities.
• May assist with duties associated with special event preparations and clean up.
• Will assist with the installation and dismantling of light displays for the annual Festival of Lights.
• Responsible for operation and general maintenance of a variety of small equipment.
• Performs all related work as required.
