Job summary

Sandia Golf Club in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Full-Time Golf Course Superintendent to lead course maintenance, budgeting, and staffing. The role supports Troon’s golf course management approach and drives high-quality greens and playability.

The candidate will oversee turf care, equipment, and safety programs, with a focus on cost control, regulatory compliance, and staff development. Competitive pay up to $120,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and two to five years of related experience and/or training.
• Degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, or plant/soil science.
• Valid driver's license required
• Pesticide license preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans.
• Plans, directs maintenance and construction of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Supervises planting and cultural practices involved in growing turf grasses and plants.
• Ensures maintenance equipment is properly maintained.
• Procures supplies and materials within budgetary limitations.
• Keeps records of maintenance activities and costs; prepares reports.
• Implements purchasing procedures with preferred vendors when possible.
• Reconciles and codes invoices, payroll, and other documents.
• Coordinates snow removal as needed.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Ensures training and licensing for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Manages department staff including assistants and technicians.
• Implements safe work practices in job performance.
