Sandia Golf Club in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Full-Time Golf Course Superintendent to lead daily course maintenance and capital plans as part of Troon’s golf-management group.

You will supervise greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and staff, manage budgets, and ensure safe operations and training.

Required: AA degree or equivalent, 2–5 years of related experience, valid driver’s license; pay up to $120,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent with focus in agronomy, horticulture, or plant/soil science.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Pesticide license preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans.
• Plans, organizes, and directs maintenance of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Supervises planting and cultural practices for turf grasses, trees, and ornamentals.
• Ensures maintenance equipment is properly maintained.
• Coordinates purchasing and vendor relations within budget.

Job Details Description Sandia Golf Club, located in Albuquerque, NM, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Golf Course Superintendent! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Pay: Up to $120,000.00 (Depending on Experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans
• Plans, organizes, and directs the maintenance and construction of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers
• Supervises the planting and cultural practices involved in growing various turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants
• Ensures that maintenance equipment is properly maintained
• Procures supplies and materials within budgetary limitations
• Keeps records of annual maintenance activities and costs; prepares reports
• Implements sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors when possible
• Reconciles and provides timely coding of all invoices, payroll, and other required documents
• Coordinates snow removal (depending upon facility location)
• Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with government regulations
• Ensures that they and all associates obtain proper training and/or licenses needed to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations; directly addresses all real or perceived environmental concerns
• Ensures proper mixing, calibration, and application of all chemicals and fertilizers used on the course
• Manages department members that may include, but are not limited to: Assistant Superintendent, 2nd Assistant Superintendent, Head Mechanic, Environmental Technician, Equipment Operator, Foreman, Greenskeeper, and Irrigation Technician
• Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate; develops ongoing training programs
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and two to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, or plant/soil science.

• Valid driver’s license required
• Pesticide license preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
