Job summary

City of Houston Recreation Assistant at the Golf Facility supports daily operations, customer service, reservations, and fee collection. You help maintain orderly play, prepare the pro shop, and assist with events while following department policies.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, roughly 3 months of related experience, and the ability to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3 months of related experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required per City policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor recreation activities at Golf Facility.
• Inspect the facility daily for unsafe conditions and submit work orders.
• Assist and monitor golf course facility activities and events; enforce rules/regulations.
• Operate cash registers, issue receipts and collect payments for fees, merchandise, and services.
• Answer phones, book reservations and provide information to customers.
• Introduce players and manage flow of play per reserved times/first-come basis.
• Prepare and stage golf cars for rental and recharge.
• Keep pro shop orderly and open/close on time.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Work early mornings, late afternoons, weekends and holidays as needed.
