Job summary

Twice in Tucson, AZ, is seeking a dedicated golf course maintenance supervisor to oversee the upkeep and construction across greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers. You will work with the superintendent to manage budgets and capital plans while guiding a team of mechanics, irrigation technicians, and greenskeepers to maintain high standards.

The role requires a degree in agronomy or related fields, 3–4 years of related experience, and a pesticide license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or AA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to four years related experience and/or training.
  • Degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, plant science, or soil science.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Pesticide Application License.
  • Ability to read and speak English is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Superintendent to ensure that the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans are maintained and followed.
  • Supervise and assist maintenance staff in daily duties.
  • Assist in the planning, organizing, and direction of the maintenance and construction of putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
  • Supervise the planting and cultural practices involved in growing various turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants.
  • Ensure that construction equipment is properly maintained.
  • Assist in the procurement of supplies and materials and ensure costs remain within budgetary limitations.
  • Keep records of annual maintenance activities and costs and assist with preparation of required reports.
  • Follow sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors, when possible.
  • Reconcile and provide timely coding of all invoices, payroll, and other required documents.
  • Coordinate snow removal, depending upon facility location.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with government regulations.
  • Ensure associates obtain proper licenses needed to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage department members including roles such as Mechanic, Environmental Technician, Equipment Operator, Foreman, Greenskeeper, and Irrigation Technician.
  • Assure that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate and develop ongoing training programs.
  • Monitor business volume forecast and plan accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
