Job summary

Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, DE, affiliated with Troon, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our golf-course maintenance team. You will assist in planning, budgeting, and directing maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, and bunkers while supervising staff and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/AA degree or equivalent with 3–4 years related experience.
• Degree preference in agronomy/horticulture/plant/soil science.
• Strong planning and budgeting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent to manage annual maintenance budget and capital plans.
• Supervise maintenance staff in daily duties.
• Plan and direct maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs and bunkers.
• Oversee planting and care of turf grasses and ornamental plants.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and procurement stay within budget.
• Maintain records and prepare reports on maintenance activities.
• Ensure licensing and compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate snow removal where location requires.
