Job summary

Troon is seeking a Full-Time Assistant Superintendent for Rouge Park Golf Course in Detroit, MI. You will oversee maintenance and construction of the golf course, ensuring turf and course conditioning meet established standards while supporting budgeting and capital planning with the on-site team.

The role requires a bachelor’s or associate degree and 3–4 years related experience, pesticide license and valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or AA from a four- or two-year college or technical school; three to four years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Degree preference in agronomy/ horticulture/ plant/ soil science).
• Three to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees maintenance and construction of the golf course to established standards.
• Supervises maintenance staff and assists in budgeting and capital plans.
• Plans, organizes, and directs maintenance and construction of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Supervises planting and cultural practices for turf grasses, trees and ornamentals.
• Ensures equipment is properly maintained and costs stay within budget.
• Keeps records of maintenance activities and prepares required reports.
