Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to oversee daily golf course maintenance, working with other departments to sustain top playing conditions for members and guests.

The role requires 2–3 years of golf maintenance experience, strong supervisory skills, and a focus on safety and budget adherence. Training, development opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years post-high school education; 1–2 year certificate in building maintenance, technology or related field
• 2–3 years golf maintenance experience
• Ability to analyze and manage varied information; vision abilities incl. color and depth perception
• Exposure to outdoor conditions, chemicals, and safety hazards; communicate with management and guests

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and organizing maintenance and construction of greens, tees, fairways, roughs and bunkers
• Supervise planting and cultural practices for turf grasses, trees and plants; ensure equipment is maintained
• Procure supplies within budget; track maintenance activities and costs; prepare reports
• Implement purchasing with preferred vendors; process invoices and payroll
• Coordinate snow removal where applicable; ensure policies and regulations are followed
• Ensure training and licenses are up-to-date; address environmental concerns
• Ensure proper mixing, calibration and application of chemicals/fertilizers
• Assist with hiring, supervising and developing maintenance staff
• Provide orientation and ongoing training; promote safe work practices
