Job summary

City of Albuquerque is seeking an irrigation technician to operate and maintain large irrigation systems including pump stations, underground piping, valves, wiring, sprinklers and controllers. You will perform soil moisture analysis and implement watering procedures for healthy turf.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with landscaping training and two years of irrigation maintenance experience; a valid NM driver's license and COP permit are expected; field work includes varied

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with 30 credit hours vocational landscaping training.
Two years irrigation system maintenance and repair experience.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain large, self-contained irrigation systems including pump stations, underground piping, valves, wiring, sprinklers and controllers.
Make rounds of the golf course to determine watering needs and check for issues with lines and heads.
Observe and adjust pump and water line operations to ensure proper pressure and coverage.
Troubleshoot and repair inoperative controllers, valves and sprinkler heads; perform preventive maintenance on motors and safety devices.
Perform field electrical repairs to controllers, valves, lines and other irrigation components.
