Job summary

The City of Bartow is seeking a dedicated Parks/Grounds Maintenance Worker to care for the municipal golf course and surrounding landscapes. Under supervision, you will mow, trim, edge, fertilize, and apply pesticides, while performing routine maintenance on course facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities include IPM inspections, fertilizer calibration, sod laying, pruning, and helping maintain clean, safe grounds for visitors and players. A Florida driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of landscaping/grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and mow the golf course and facilities.
• Mows fairways, roughs, greens; adjusts pin locations; rakes sand traps.
• Apply fertilizer and pesticides; calibrate spreaders.
• Lay sod and assist with landscaping; prune trees and hedges.
• Operate golf course maintenance equipment safely.
• Provide written monthly inspection and maintenance reports.
