Job summary

City and County of Honolulu seeks a journey-level Mechanical Repairer to troubleshoot, repair and maintain golf course equipment at the Ted Makalena Golf Course in Waipahu.

The role conducts preventive maintenance, inspects motors and engines, and uses hand and power tools; duties include documenting work and ordering parts. A valid Hawaii driver’s license is required and weekend/holiday work may be needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment and materials used in repairing mechanical equipment.
• Knowledge of the functions and operating principles of mechanical equipment including motors and engines.
• Ability to recognize defects in mechanical equipment and take corrective action.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, inspect, repair and maintain golf course equipment.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and equipment servicing.
• Research parts replacement and submit paperwork to purchase parts; maintain records.
