Job summary

Starr Pass Golf Club in Tucson, AZ, seeks a Full-Time Assistant Superintendent to lead course maintenance and construction efforts. You will work with the Superintendent to manage budgets, plan capital projects, and supervise a team of maintenance staff.

Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree, 3–4 years of experience, and a strong knowledge of turf management while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across the property.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or AA in agronomy, horticulture, plant/soil science or related field.
• Three to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Degree preference in agronomy/ horticulture/ plant/soil science.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and construction of the golf course to established standards.
• Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate daily duties.
• Assist in planning and directing maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, roughs and bunkers.
• Ensure proper planting and cultural practices for turf grasses and ornamentals.
• Procure supplies and manage costs within budgetary limits.
• Maintain records of activities and costs; prepare required reports.
• Coordinate snow removal where applicable; ensure compliance with regulations.
• Ensure licensing and safety standards; train and develop associates.
