Job summary

Bella Verde Golf Club in Montebello, CA, part of Troon, is seeking a full-time Assistant Superintendent to lead daily maintenance and agronomic practices on the golf course and surrounding grounds.

Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, you will supervise foremen and crew, manage weekly schedules, budgets, IPM and irrigation plans, and communicate maintenance updates to members and guests. This role emphasizes leadership and golf course stewardship.

Qualifications

• Must have supervisory experience and strong communication skills.
• Basic computer skills including Word and Excel.
• Strong business aptitude and attention to detail.
• Highly organized and efficient with excellent interpersonal abilities.
• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and trains foreman, irrigation technician, and other maintenance staff.
• Prepares weekly schedules for maintenance personnel.
• Monitors inventory, maintenance equipment usage, and safety training.
• Manages the annual budget and maintenance recordkeeping with the Superintendent.
• Develops agronomic strategies for fertilization and irrigation.
• Calibrates and operates pesticide sprayers.
• Implements Troon HR guidelines and informs members about maintenance activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
