Job description

Guidant Management in Plantation, FL is looking for one golf course assistant superintendent to join our team at Plantation Preserve Golf Course located at 7050 West Broward Blvd. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and engaged.

Must pass a Background check and Drug Test.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of golf course maintenance experience in a leadership role, including golf, turf fertilization, calibration, pest control, and irrigation oversight
• Pesticide applicator certification
• Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf culture
• Certified and/or licensed for pesticide usage
• Valid Florida driver's license
• Knowledge of irrigation systems, including watering practices, pumps, wells, automatic controls, and drainage

Responsibilities

• The assistant superintendent is entrusted with the maintenance, operation, and management of the golf course, including the clubhouse and surrounding areas.
• Direct and manage a staff of 6-8 employees.
• Approve expenditures and exercise cost control measures.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, and supervise staff.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of chemicals, petroleum, and controlled products according to regulations.
• Report directly to the General Manager.
• Supervise operation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment.
• Prepare and operate within annual budgets and agronomic plans.
• Create and distribute maintenance activity reports.
• Perform administrative duties timely.
