Job summary

The County Club seeks an experienced Controller to lead all general ledger accounting, month-end closings, and financial reporting for a premier venue. The role will develop strategies to improve financial performance and business processes.

Ideal candidate has prior accounting and finance leadership at a golf club, with strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills. This is a 100% on-site role in New York with competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

Oversee all operational accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting per GAAP.
Prepare monthly financial statements: balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports; present results to leadership.
Manage annual operating budget and financial forecasts.
Supervise payroll process ensuring timely payments and compliance with payroll regulations; maintain employee files.
Establish internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external auditors; ensure compliance with laws.
Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions; analyze trends for improvement opportunities.
Develop and mentor accounting team; foster a collaborative, results-driven environment.
