Description

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation: Starting wage $17.00, adjusted based on experience
  • Benefits: Seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Several discount programs (i.e. food & beverage, retail/rental, tickets, etc.) also available.

Job Summary:

Designed by Geoffrey Cornish, the Killington Golf Course takes full advantage of unique mountain terrain, and it shows. Snowmelt streams, a 2,000’ elevation and signature vistas set the scene. The 6,186-yard, par 72 Championship Golf Course includes a practice facility with a 12,000 square-foot putting green and practice bunker, full-size retail pro shop with all the essentials, on-course beverage cart, caddy shack with food and beverage offerings, as well as theClubhouse Bar and Grill with indoor and outdoor seating. The Killington Golf Course offers a full season schedule of league nights and tournaments.

The Golf Attendant is an integral part of the golf team in assuring a seamless experience for golfers. The Golf Attendant ensures all components of golf operations are facilitated for the guest. From customer check-in, booking, and pro shop needs to golf cart management and supporting the pace of play for golfers, Golf Attendants work together to facilitate all aspects of the guests experience.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Greet guests in a friendly manner and answer a variety of questions about the resort and the area
  • Explain the overview of our course at a high level
  • Help keep all working areas attractive, neat and clean, and free of trash and waste
  • Follow procedures for proper opening and closing of the cart and range operations
  • Maintain order and continuity of player traffic
  • Keep the outside area uncontested, neat, and clean
  • Empty all trash cans on the golf course
  • Assist in tournament setup of golf carts
  • Track and report the need for supplies necessary for day-to-day operations
  • Ensure the pro shop is stocked of merchandise in a presentable manner
  • Check in and cash out golfers, while monitoring the pace of play on golf cart computer program
  • Communicate to Ranger and Starter about any changes to the tee sheet or any updates that need to be addressed on course
  • Perform other duties as required

Starter/Ranger:

  • Ensure golfers leave the first tee on time and give a brief overview of the course and rules of the course
  • Keep golfers moving along the course and maintaining pace of play
  • Drive around the course to ensure golf patrons follow guidelines that are established for guests
  • Ensure that there are no backups on the course, and when there are help rectify them with players
  • Be personable, be good with confrontation and be willing and able to help golfers maintain their play
  • Monitor Course for outside alcohol consumption

Golf Carts:

  • Explain the use of our electric golf carts to guests
  • Do not allow carts to clog the passage area, arrange them neatly after having been used
  • Responsible for cart cleanliness, cart supplies, cart condition, charging and rotation of golf carts to ensure uniform usage amongst the fleet
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Highly self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and interact with our patrons at a high-level
  • Good driving skills and a valid drivers license
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 40 lbs

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to Stand 6-8 Hours
  • A positive attitude while on the job is also essential
  • Must be able to clearly communicate guests needs to other team members
  • Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
