Job summary

The Broadmoor Hotel, Inc. in Colorado Springs is seeking a Server for our Golden Bee restaurant. You will deliver polished, attentive service and guide guests through menu and wine selections in a luxury dining environment.

As a server, you will maintain professional demeanor, support seamless service, and collaborate with culinary and sommelier teams to ensure flawless course delivery. Prior fine-dining experience is preferred and flexibility for evenings and weekends is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant preferred.
• Strong wine service knowledge and POS proficiency.

Job Department: Golden Bee

Job Pay Range: $23.00 - $32.00 / hour (Inclusive of hourly pay rate + service charge)

• Breakdown: Based on $6.42 per hour base wage + service charge commission paid per shift; historically, this position averages service charge commission earnings of $16.00 - $25.00 per hour. Service charges fluctuate based on the time of year.
• This position always earns at least the current Colorado minimum wage $15.16 per hour.

Job Summary

As a “Golden Bee” Server, you will create memorable dining experiences by combining genuine hospitality with polished, attentive service. You will confidently guide guests through menu and wine selections, anticipate their needs, and ensure each course is delivered with precision and care. As an ambassador for our luxury resort, you will maintain a gracious and professional demeanor while delivering exceptional service in a sophisticated, fast-paced dining environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Set up and break down dining tables and chairs, ensuring each table is impeccably arranged and presented according to luxury service standards.
• Greet guests warmly, seat or guide them comfortably, and intuitively anticipate individual preferences, dietary restrictions, and special occasions.
• Master the fine-dining food, cocktails, and extensive wine/champagne lists; offer tailored recommendations and detailed explanations of preparation, sourcing, and ingredients.
• Coordinate seamlessly with culinary and sommelier teams to ensure precise, timely, and elegant delivery of courses using proper fine-dining service etiquette.
• Perform discreet, continuous table management (including crumb removal, water service, and course clearing) while maintaining a pristine dining atmosphere.
• Handle guest checks and secure POS transactions with utmost discretion, accuracy, and professionalism.
• Promptly bus and reset tables to established service standards, carefully organizing dishes on trays to ensure safe handling and maintain an immaculate dining environment.
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked service stations throughout the shift, ensuring all work areas are thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the next service period.
• Adhere strictly to local health, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service regulations.
• Ensure complete compliance with The Broadmoor guidelines, operational procedures, safety policies, and institutional standards for excellence (Forbes Travel Guide and AAA Five-Diamond).
• Maintain a willingness to learn about The Broadmoor’s history, estate grounds, wilderness properties, culinary offerings, and retail outlets.
• Execute additional duties and responsibilities as required.

What we are looking for

• Minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
• Previous 2 years of experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant is highly preferred; however, an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional background will be considered.
• Proficient understanding of wine service, food pairings, and modern POS system.
• Exceptional verbal communication skills with polished, professional, and empathetic presence.
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation and email communication.
• A highly motivated team player who connects easily with colleagues and drives results through positive energy and seamless collaboration.
• Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs. with assistance and proper safety practices.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as required by the calendar of events.
