Job summary

Godfrey Marine in Elkhart, Indiana, part of Polaris, is seeking a Metal Fab Associate to fabricate marine components and assemble decks and structures from the ground up.

You will read prints, operate air tools, punch presses, and CNC equipment, and collaborate on safe, efficient production lines while training to advance within the company.

No prior marine experience required; a great attitude and work ethic with training offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of air tools, bench grinders, drill & punch press equipment.
• Must be able to read and understand prints.
• Knowledge of CNC operation.
• Knowledge and use of tape measure to the 32nd.
• Able to understand and follow the requirements, policies, and guidelines set forth within the Code of Conduct & Employee Handbook expectations.
• Must have reliable transportation to get to work.
• Must be able to follow the Company's Safety and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) guidelines.

As an Metal Fab Associate, you will play a hands-on role in crafting our world-class pontoon and deck boats from the ground up.

Position Overview

Production Tier 1 competency level ranges from no experience to approximately (6) months of transferable job experience. In order to remain an employee in good standing the employee must meet these minimum requirements.

Metal Fabrication 1 is responsible for learning the basic skills needed to setup and operate machines in a safe manner. Metal Fabrication must also be able to cut parts for units as needed and meet all Godfrey Marine production goals.

Requirements

• Ability to continuously stand, walk, reach while frequently crouching, bending, & climbing throughout the workday.
• Must be able to work in a non-airconditioned environment.
• Ability to professionally work with team members, Team Leads, Group Leaders, and Supervisors to achieve daily work targets.
• Able to learn or prior experience with common hand tools to assemble parts. This will be demonstrated by successfully passing the bench, simulation test.
• Must be able to listen, understand, and follow the instructions and coaching feedback provided by Team Leads, Group Leaders, Supervisors and/or Plant Manager.
• Ability to understand importance of following work instructions to compete the daily work targets with zero defects.

Other Skills/Abilities

• Must be able to professionally and effectively communicate with Team Leads, Group Leaders, Supervisors and Plant Manager.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changes in responsibility (work duties) processes, procedures, or work schedules.

• Safety glasses & shoes when inside production areas.
