Job summary

Godfrey Marine, a Polaris, Inc. division, is expanding its Elkhart team and hiring Assembly Associates across competency levels. You will hands-on craft pontoon and deck boats from the ground up, using hand and power tools, and contribute to safety and quality standards.

We value training and internal growth; prior marine or manufacturing experience is a plus, but a great attitude and work ethic with our training program can lead to success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read prints and use a tape measure.
  • Experience with common hand tools to assemble parts.
  • Able to follow safety and PPE guidelines.
  • Stand/walk for long periods in a non-airconditioned environment.

As an Assembly Associate, you will play a hands‑on role in crafting our world-class pontoon and deck boats from the ground up.

  • Assemble high-quality marine components, structures, hardware, and accessories using standard hand and power tools
  • Inspect finished parts and assemblies to ensure they meet our rigorous safety, quality, and craft standards
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional team members to maintain clean, safe, and efficient production lines.
  • Participate in training programs expand your manufacturing skill set and advance within the company.
Position Overview

Production Tier 1 competency level ranges from no experience to approximately (6) months of transferable job experience. In order to remain an employee in good standing the employee must meet these minimum requirements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Knowledge of air tools and hand tools such as screw guns, impact guns, caulking guns staple guns, air ratchets, and sanders
  • Must be able to read prints and use a tape measure
  • Able to understand and follow the requirements, policies, and guidelines set forth within the Code of Conduct & Employee Handbook expectations
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to work
  • Must be able to follow the Company's Safety and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) guidelines

Requirements
  • Ability to continuously stand, walk, reach while frequently crouching, bending, & climbing throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to work in a non-airconditioned environment.
  • Ability to professionally work with team members, Team Leads, Group Leaders, and Supervisors to achieve daily work targets.
  • Prior experience with common hand tools to assemble parts. This will be demonstrated by successfully passing the bench, simulation test.
  • Must be able to listen, understand, and follow the instructions and coaching feedback provided by Team Leads, Group Leaders, Supervisors and/or Plant Manager.
  • Ability to understand importance of following work instructions to compete the daily work targets with zero defects.
Other Skills/Abilities
  • Must be able to professionally and effectively communicate with Team Leads, Group Leaders, Supervisors and Plant Manager.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes in responsibility (work duties) processes, procedures, or work schedules.
PPE Requirements
  • Safety glasses & shoes when inside production areas.
