Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer for the Stablecoin team who will build and operate backend services powering international stablecoins. You will evaluate external APIs, implement backend systems, and support mint/burn contracts to maintain a robust stablecoin platform.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver features end-to-end, ensuring reliability, security, and scalable operations across Retail, Exchange, Prime, and Custody products.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production backend services in a service-oriented architecture.
• Proficiency in Go and blockchain fundamentals (Ethereum or similar EVM chains).
• Experience evaluating, integrating, and operating third-party APIs and external partner systems.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver features end-to-end with autonomy, from design through deployment and ongoing operation.
• Familiarity with distributed systems patterns and a track record of writing high-quality, well-tested production code.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services that power stablecoin issuance, onboarding, and operations, including integrating external partner APIs with internal systems to launch new international stablecoins.
• Own end-to-end delivery of features from technical design through production, working closely with product managers, designers, and tech leads on scope and implementation.
• Support the smart contracts that mint, burn, and safeguard stablecoin supply, working with senior engineers on design and security review.
• Partner with cross-functional teams across Stablecoins UX, Growth, and Ecosystem to deliver rewards, incentive, and conversion features that drive stablecoin adoption.
• Execute reliability and quality improvements across the stablecoin platform, writing well-tested code and contributing to observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
