Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking junior to mid-level engineers for Guidance, Navigation, and Controls (GNC) in Chandler, AZ. The role focuses on developing and validating high-quality software and simulation toolchains within a 6DoF missile flight environment.

The position requires a relevant engineering degree with experience in missile dynamics, autopilot design, and trajectory optimization. This is an on-site role with potential relocation support and access to a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of professional experience (Level 1)
• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 1 year (Level 2)
• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year (Level 3)
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years (Level 4)
• Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, verify, and test high-quality software and simulation toolchains
• Work on a 6 degree of freedom (6DoF) simulation to design and test missile flight code
• Work with 6DoF simulation models to evaluate system performance
• Experience with missile flight dynamics, autopilot and guidance design, and implementation into missile flight code
• Experience with various trajectory optimization software and tools
