Job summary

Zoetis Lincoln is seeking a Laboratory Technician - Virus Operations to join our 1st shift team in producing viral antigens and supporting GMP documentation. You will work in a hands-on manufacturing lab with mammalian cell culture practices and downstream processing equipment.

The role requires basic mechanical skills, cell culture knowledge, and a commitment to safety. Overtime during weekends/holidays may be required. Benefits start on day one.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent required.
• BS in Biological sciences preferred.
• Preference given to applicants with relevant experience in biological production and/or aseptic manufacturing.
• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, computer skills, and working knowledge of the metric system.
• Fundamental understanding of cell growth and general lab practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform processes and operate equipment required for production of bulk viral antigen.
• Apply aseptic technique with good cell culture practices as it relates to viral and antibody production.
• Operate equipment involved in downstream processing of production bulk fluids (e.g., tangential flow filtration, hollow-fiber filtration, sterile filtration).
• Using knowledge of bioreactors/fermentors and support equipment, apply skills to identify mechanical problems and maintain equipment.
• Understand, follow, and complete process documentation in support of GMP.
• Understand and follow safety policies as it relates to biological and chemical components and equipment to protect personnel and maintain product quality.
