Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the engineering and maintenance teams at a 24/7 operation, ensuring safety, GMP compliance, and reliable equipment performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across facilities, automation, and process development to deliver capital projects and continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree with 4 years of Manufacturing, Packaging or Quality experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology companies.
• OR Master’s degree with 8 years of Manufacturing, Packaging or Quality experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology companies.
• OR Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of Manufacturing, Packaging or Quality experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotechnology companies.
• In addition, at least 4 years of experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, strategy, and tactical direction for the engineering and maintenance teams supporting the assembly and packaging lines in AOH 24/7 operation.
• Ensure safety of all personnel during plant operations and engineering activities and GMP compliance.
• Maximize staff productivity and the efficient use of available resources; drive equipment reliability and capital projects.
• Interface with Amgen internal networks and diverse stakeholders, including facilities, engineering, and process development.
• Review and approve engineering designs, expenditures, and sponsor improvement projects.
