Job summary

BioLegend in San Diego seeks a Biochemist II for GMP recombinant protein manufacturing. You will purify and conjugate recombinant proteins, formulate products, and perform quality control for GMP release.

You’ll collaborate with manufacturing, QA, and QC teams to manage materials, inventory, and batch records while following ISO/GMP standards. The role requires a BS in Life Science with 2+ years in biotech manufacturing, strong purification experience, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Life Science or related area.
• Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of related biotech protein or antibody product manufacturing experience.
• Extensive experience in protein or antibody purification.
• Experienced in purification and formulation of recombinant protein or antibody.
• Experienced in manufacturing under ISO/GMP environment.
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to work in small teams.
• Able to perform basic computer operations (MS Office, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Purify recombinant proteins or antibodies using affinity matrices such as IMAC and Protein A Sepharose.
• Conjugate and polish proteins using chromatography and AKTA FPLC.
• Perform in-process quality testing including purity and endotoxin analyses.
• Support audits for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Train and validate equipment and processes; assist with batch records for product release/validation.
• Support document control, validation, training, nonconformance, and CAPA activities.
