Job summary

BioLegend in San Diego seeks a Biochemist to join manufacturing of purified conjugated antibodies, supporting studies in precision medicine, oncology, immunology, and neuroscience.

The role focuses on ensuring the highest product quality by following SOPs, troubleshooting processes, and contributing to continuous improvement. 1–2 years of biotech experience and hands-on antibody conjugation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field; OR biotech certification; OR equivalent biotechnology industry working experience.
• 1-2 years of work experience in a related biotech product development or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with antibody conjugation.
• Experience operating UV monitors for chromatography.
• Previous experience in ISO or GMP manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and purify antibody conjugations with light-sensitive fluorophores and perform purification using chromatography techniques.
• Follow SOPs, batch records, and compliance documentation to ensure quality and regulatory adherence.
• Propose and participate in process-improvement projects and assist in troubleshooting for greater efficiency.
• Operate and maintain essential laboratory equipment, contribute to safety, and perform 5S sustainment activities.
• Collaborate with team members, participate in visual management (QDIPs), and cross-train on supporting tasks.
