Job summary

Lilly, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, seeks a chemist to perform routine GMP testing with HPLC/UPLC, support method development and validation, and ensure compliance in a fast‑paced Foundry environment. This onsite role offers growth in a first‑of‑its‑kind facility supporting clinical phases 1–3 and requires strong documentation and teamwork.

Initial Carmel, IN location with permanent work at the Lilly Medicines Foundry in Lebanon, IN.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely related STEM field with 2+ years of lab experience; or
• M.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or closely related STEM field with 1+ year of lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine GMP testing of swab and rinse samples using HPLC/UPLC with UV detection to support timely equipment release.
• Support development, qualification, and validation of analytical methods for residues across multiple modalities.
• Execute swab and rinse recovery studies and evaluate method performance.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot HPLC/UPLC instrumentation and methods.
• Handle samples safely including high potency compounds.
• Document work in compliance with cGMP and ALCOA+ and assist with procedures and reports.
• Perform data reviews and participate in investigations of out-of-trend results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand testing needs and prioritize work.
