Job summary

Florida International University (FIU) Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) seeks a GME Program Manager to oversee graduate medical education activities at Baptist Hospital Miami. You will ensure accreditation readiness, coordinate surveys, and manage program data across multiple residencies and fellowships.

Responsibilities include directing didactics scheduling, leading faculty and trainee credentialing efforts, and delivering training to GME staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience in compliance, finance, audit, law or closely-related field.

Job Summary

Florida International University (FIU) Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) is a national leader in integrating community-based medical education and clinical care. We are dedicated to training socially accountable physicians, scientists, and health professionals committed to serving the community. HWCOM is an academic and clinical affiliate of Baptist Health, South Florida's (BHSF) largest not-for-profit health system. BHSF and HWCOM aim to develop a catalog of graduate medical education (GME) programs based out of BHSF's largest hospital, Baptist Hospital Miami (BHM).

Education

We are currently seeking a GME Program Manager for Graduate Medical Education to join our team of professionals within Baptist Hospital Miami:

  • Works closely with the DIO and other leadership to ensure the institution meets ACGME Institutional and Program requirements, including policies, procedures and regulatory standards
  • Works in collaboration with the Accreditation Manager to coordinate activities for accreditation and re-accreditation reviews and site visits.
  • Assists in the oversight of institutionally sponsored and affiliated ACGME-accredited programs by ensuring compliance with duty hour requirements, curriculum standards and quality improvement initiatives
  • Assists in the oversight of compliance with tracking of resident data, program data and timely submission of the data. Coordinates the collection, review and feedback on ACGME resident, fellow, faculty and institutional surveys. Ensures compliance with timely submission of all required data
  • Oversee schedules for programs' didactics, conferences, and other educational activities.
  • Manages the gathering of evaluations, and feedback for continuous quality improvement across all programs at the Institutional level.
  • Oversee the preparation, review and approval of the Institutional and Program handbooks in alignment with ACGME requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a training program for program coordinators and program administrators.
  • Provides training to all new GME employees, as well as ongoing training and education. Trains coordinators on developing block schedules, ensure curriculum goals and rotation evaluations are in place.
  • Ensures constant and timely training of program coordinators and program administrators by ensuring constant knowledge of regulation changes.
  • Manages the credentialling process for residents and fellows within the hospital and institutional training sites and rotating staff credentials.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of the institutional GME orientation and onboarding for all new trainees, ensuring timely completion of all credentialing and licensure requirements. Ensures comprehensive orientation processes are in place for new trainees.
  • Manages offboarding procedures for departing residents and fellows.
  • Coordinates the graduation and program completion process, including final evaluations and verification of training for credentialing bodies.
  • Coordinates residents' and fellows' participation in hospital committees. Serves as liaison with all stakeholders on the SASS (Scholarly Activities Support Services) side and FIU side
  • Leads research and scholarship program development and implementation. Plans and executes annual research forums, grand rounds, etc.
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
  • The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of experience in compliance, finance, audit, law or closely-related field.

  • Education in healthcare administration, education, or related field
  • Extensive experience in graduate medical education administration.
  • Strong understanding of ACGME requirements and accreditation processes.
