Job summary

Akicita Federal is seeking a GME Institutional Administrator to support graduate medical education compliance, accreditation, and operations for the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD. You will be the principal administrative partner to the DIO, ensuring 24 ACGME-accredited programs meet stringent standards.

Your role includes coordinating accreditation activities, leading GMEC meetings, and managing onboarding with HR, Credentialing, Security, and NIH Institutes.

Qualifications

• Prior experience serving as a GME Institutional Administrator or in a DIO-support role within a Sponsoring Institution, academic medical center, or federal healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with NIH, federal agency, or government hospital administrative processes, including coordination across multiple Institutes and Centers.
• Experience supporting ACGME site visits, Institutional Self-Studies, Special Reviews, or responding to ACGME Review Committee findings.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate training programs or coordinator forums across a distributed, multi-program GME enterprise.
• Background working with international trainees or with the Division of International Services for fellow onboarding and appointment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all ACGME institutional accreditation activities, including ADS updates, new program applications, complement change requests, site visit prep, and Self-Study processes.
• Plan, schedule, and facilitate GMEC meetings — agendas, materials, minutes, action items, and subcommittees.
• Lead the AIR process by collecting indicators, compiling surveys, preparing summaries, and tracking action plans and quality initiatives.
• Manage Clinical Fellow onboarding end-to-end, coordinating across HR, Credentialing, Security/Badging, Benefits, Payroll, Division of International Services, and NIH Institutes and Centers.
• Maintain and update GME policies and procedures, appointment templates, and governance docs in line with ACGME and NIH standards.
• Administer and support the GME trainee software platform, train users, ensure secure data handling per NIH privacy requirements.
• Lead a forum for GME Program Coordinators across NIH Institutes and Centers, providing ongoing support and coordination.
