Job summary

BFS FOODS in Morgantown, WV is seeking a Store Manager to optimize store profitability and deliver excellent customer service. You will drive sales, lead staff, and ensure compliance with Subway training standards and safety policies.

You will manage rosters, budgets, stock, invoicing, banking, and local marketing plans while coaching employees to grow to their full potential. This role requires strong leadership and business acumen in a busy retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Maximize store sales and net profit while maintaining a strong customer service focus.
• Lead and develop store staff through ongoing training and recognition.
• Prepare rosters within budgeted labor and hours; conduct performance appraisals quarterly.
• Oversee invoicing, ordering, daily banking, and stock procedures.
• Manage stock control, weekly stock takes, and local store marketing plans.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, compliance with Subway guidelines, and a safe work environment.
• Handle escalated customer inquiries and complaints with a high level of professionalism.

A Store Manager grows retail shop sales in all categories and implements ‘best practice’ of each component of the retail offer. This position ensures competent, capable employees are recognized and developed through ongoing training.Key AccountabilitiesFinancial ResponsibilitiesManage and track the following elements:Store SalesNet ProfitOverall Store BusinessPeople ManagementRecruit and select new employeesOverall management and responsibility of Sandwich Artist, Shift Managers, Assistant ManagersEnsure that new employees are trained and inducted in accordance with Subway training requirementsProvide ongoing coaching of employees and lead expectations by examplePrepare the rosters in line with budgeted labor and man hoursRun employee counseling sessions and Investigation Meetings. Inform District Supervisor of escalated employee issuesPerform employee appraisals once every quarterMentor Assistant Managers as requiredBusiness AcumenDevelop and monitor store labor budgets and man hoursInvoicing, ordering and daily bankingPrepare required paperwork in relation to stock and sales. Prepare employee pay and timesheetsManage cash variances and wastageEnsure 100% compliance in accordance to SUBWAY and council guidelinesRetail AcumenPerform inventory management and stock control including weekly stock take and reports.
