Job summary

Target is seeking a General Merchandise Team Leader in Austin, TX. You will lead hourly team members to deliver an exceptional guest experience, manage daily workflows, and coordinate merchandising and backroom operations while upholding Target’s service standards.

The role emphasizes coaching, performance feedback, and collaboration with store leadership to meet sales goals and maintain in-stock, correctly priced merchandise.

Qualifications

• Guest service fundamentals and guest-first culture.
• Retail fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, pricing and promotions.
• Leading a team by planning department daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals.
• Leading a team of hourly team members, including interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating and retaining talent.
• Coaching and training hourly team members to build a team of hourly team members with direction from your direct leader.

Responsibilities

• Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience.
• Ensure every team member is trained and consistently delivers Target's guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
• Observe and provide feedback, hold team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments.
• Review area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities and drive improvements.
• Lead execution of daily/weekly workload to deliver store sales goals and guest engagement, including receiving products and merchandising.
