Job summary

Arvato Bertelsmann seeks a Senior Trade & FTZ Compliance Manager to lead global trade compliance for import/export operations in a multinational logistics environment. This role provides strategic guidance to business teams, brokers, clients and internal stakeholders while maintaining robust compliance programs.

The position requires 10+ years in trade compliance leadership, strong CBP and export controls knowledge, and experience with HTS, ECCN, Schedule B and ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive global trade compliance leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. CBP requirements and export control regulations.
• Experience with HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, country of origin, valuation, licenses, sanctions.
• Experience managing customs brokers and third‑party providers.
• Experience conducting trade compliance audits, risk assessments, corrective actions.
• Experience with ERP and trade compliance systems (Oracle, SAP, SAP GTS).
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work with senior leadership, clients, brokers, and government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day global trade compliance activities for U.S. and international import/export operations.
• Provide guidance on CBP, BIS, OFAC and other regulatory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain trade compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on operations and clients.
• Oversee import/export classifications, origin determinations, and duty rates.
• Review entries and supporting docs for regulatory compliance.
• Partner with brokers to resolve entry issues and inquiries.
• Support audits, investigations, and government inquiries.
