Job summary

Motion Industries seeks a Trade Compliance Analyst II to guide the Global Sourcing group and Motion business units in complying with US and Canada import/export laws. You will coordinate with legal, finance, audit, IT and others to develop processes, ensure regulatory compliance, and train staff across international shipments.

You will oversee classification, licensing, recordkeeping, and interaction with brokers and government agencies, with emphasis on Prop 65, DOT/IMDG/IATA transport rules,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years related experience.
• Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Prop 65, hazard communication, and transport regulations.
• Familiarity with US CFR, ACE Portal, ITAR, ECCN, and export controls.
• Ability to learn new software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Support US and Canada locations with international trade activities.
• Research US/CA regulations for business units.
• Ensure product safety compliance at sourcing, procurement, and import stages.
• Verify compliance with local, state/provincial, and federal requirements.
• Develop and maintain import/export policies and work instructions.
• Answer classification inquiries from units, brokers, and agencies.
• Provide information for import entries.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders to schedule shipments.
• Train staff on regulatory matters.
• Vet international customers for export compliance.
• Apply US/Canada export controls.
